Uses of geological maps

About the theme of "geological maps"

Geological maps are indispensable for understanding the Earth's composition, structure, and history.

These maps provide valuable information about the distribution of rock types, geological features, and natural resources within a given area.

They are utilized by geologists, environmental scientists, engineers,
and policymakers for various purposes, including land-use planning, mineral exploration, hazard assessment, and environmental management.

In my artistic interpretation of geological maps, I employ a combination
of collages and tapes to suggest the intricate patterns and formations
in the Earth's crust.

I begin by creating abstract shapes and textures on paper using various materials, such as torn paper, fabric scraps, and textured mediums.

These collages represent the diverse geological features found in nature, including mountains, valleys, rivers, and sedimentary layers.

To further enhance the visual representation of geological maps, I incorporate tapes of different colors and widths to delineate boundaries, highlight key features, and add depth to the composition.

The color tapes are meticulously arranged and layered on the collages, creating a sense of dimensionality and complexity.

By using tapes to simulate geological formations, I aim to capture the dynamic and multifaceted nature of the Earth's surface, inviting viewers to explore
the intricate layers of our planet's geological history.
